1. Find a book.

• select Library catalog from the upper left of the Library Homepage
• select SUBJECT search
• type this topic:
  
  Universities and Colleges United States Directories
• click on one title from the results list
• choose one book, fill in the following:

 Author's name_______________________________________________

 Title_______________________________________________________

 Call number ________________________________________________

2. Find a fulltext magazine article.

• select Fulltext Articles from the Library Homepage
• click on Magazine Articles (EBSCOhost)
• Click on EBSCOhost Web
• Type in this search College choice
  
• Now click in the Full Text box (Under: Limit your search) to select fulltext articles.
• click in the Cabrillo College Library journals box to include magazines which are not available online in fulltext , but are owned by Cabrillo library.
• Click on SEARCH
• Select one article to look at. Select the FULL TEXT icon under the brief description of the article you want to look at.

Name of the Magazine in which the article was published (listed as the SOURCE)

What can you do besides read this on your screen?

1. Print the article  You can have a printout of the article if you click on the PRINT button at the top of the screen. It costs ten cents per page and you pick them up at the Circulation Desk. You should fill out a "Pay for Print" form.  
2. Email the article to yourself or a friend: Click on Check the option box for via e-mail; type in the email address; click on the submit button.
3. Save the article to your disk Click on Check the option box for display to save; click on the submit button.  select File/Save asand use .txt as the extension.
4. If you have a home computer and a current, valid library card you can use fulltext online library resources FROM HOME. Just select "Fulltext Articles " from the library homepage and follow the directions.

3. Look at Web links for "College lists"

3. Select "Colleges"
4. Choose one of the websites under "College lists"
5. Explore the website as if you were looking for a college
6. Try to judge how well the site is set up for you to find what you are looking for
