To: Cabrillo College Instructors
From: Cabrillo College Library

Welcome to the Cabrillo College Information Environment.
As Instructors you play a key role in guiding students towards on-campus library resources and towards online library resources. In the 21st century our college students are expected to be comfortable in the digital world.
The Student Senate has funded the library with a $15,000.00 grant to purchase single copies of the most expensive textbooks required for courses at Cabrillo College. This year we will have one copy on reserve of every textbook with a cost of over $50.00. If a section of a course is taught in Watsonville or in Scotts Valley a copy of the textbooks worth more than $50.00 should also be available at those sites.
If you, as an instructor, have any extra copies of any required textbook(s), please place them on reserve in the library for your classes.
Please apply for your own library card either by coming to the library and filling out a simple application card, or by filling out an online application found at the bottom of the library home at: http://libwww.cabrillo.edu

Attached you will find a collection of handouts to encourage your familiarity with the library and its services to instructors:

  1. A copy of the library homepage
  2. A copy of the Web page listing Online Full Text subscription databases
  3. A copy of the library’s Reserves Policy
  4. An Electronic Book (eBooks) explanation
  5. An application form for a Cabrillo College Library card.
  6. A list of the departments at Cabrillo and the corresponding liaison librarian for coordinating instructor requests for library materials.
