Library 10 is a workbook-based course that helps you understand how to find, select, and intelligently use information for research. This is a self-paced (with deadlines) workbook. You will record the time you spend on the workbook on the "Time Card" inside the cover of the Workbook.
Assignments:
Part one is due any time before October 3rd.
Part two is due any time before November 14th.
Grading policy: You must have prior permission from me to extend any due dates. Call me or email me if you have problems meeting the deadlines. If you call me, there will be reason to grant an extension. If you don't contact me, there will be a 5 point grade penalty for late Workbooks.
Your final grade is based on your completed workbook and your final exam grade combined, and will be calculated as follows:
0 - 10 total points deducted (91-100) = A
11 - 20 total points deducted (81-90) = B
21 - 30 total points deducted (71-80) = C
31 - 40 total points deducted (61-70) = D
41+ total incorrect answers (below 60) = FGrading for the individual citations will be based on the following guidelines. Please note that I take off points and fractions of points for leaving out a key element or part of the citation and I'm lenient on the exact punctuation.
For an A:

Tips and suggestions:
Be consistent and follow the same topic throughout the book.
The words and phrases you select to describe your topic will influence the quality of the results when you search for information.
Above all, I hope you enjoy the experience of taking your own topic into a variety of information sources.
