The Web browser is software the enables you to use the computer to travel to different resources on the Web. It also enables you to download materials, save files, and print.

There are different browsers, and different versions of browsers.

Public Web Browser (PWB) is used on computers in the Cabrillo College Library
Internet Explorer (IE) is from Microsoft. It comes already installed on many computers.
Netscape is another popular browser. It originated from Mosaic, which was the first browser.
Mozilla is yet another popular browser. It is "open source code," meaning that institutions can modify it for their own uses.

Browsers have very similar features. Once you know how to use one, you can easily adapt to others.
