Apply for a Library Card online from the bottom of the Library Homepage or, at the Circulation Desk in the Library (Bring a photo ID if you apply in person) To get to this webpage, |
- Select Library catalog from the Library Homepage
- Use WORDS search
- Type in your WORDS search in the style of the examples: (use the quotes as in this example): "James Joyce" AND Eveline
- If your title is really distinctive, go ahead and type in the title of the short story without any author name
- Are any of the books in eBook format? (See the attached eBook handout.)
- then, click on one entry from the results list
- select Fulltext Articles from the Library Homepage
- click on Fulltext Magazine Articles
- choose   EBSCOhost Web from the center of the next page
Type in your search terms: Eveline AND "James Joyce"
- click in the Full Text box (Under: Refine Search) to select fulltext articles.
- Click in the Peer Reviewed box to see scholarly journals, but be careful with this choice as it may limit the search too much and you might not get any/many results. Try it and see for yourself.
- Click on SEARCH
- Select one article to look at. Select the icon under the brief description of the article you want to look at.
What can you do besides read this on your screen?
- Print the article. You can have a printout of the article if you click on the PRINT button at the top of the screen. It costs ten cents per page and you pick them up at the Circulation Desk. You should fill out a "Pay for Print" form.
- Email the article to yourself or a friend: Click on email Check the option box for citation and any available full text; type in the email address; click on the submit button.
- Save the article to your disk Click on SAVE Check the option box for display to save; click on the submit button. select File/Save as and use .txt as the extension.
- Use these online fulltext resources if you have a home computer, internet access and a current, valid library card. From home, start at the library homepage:

Then select "Fulltext Articles" from the library homepage and follow the directions.
- select Fulltext Articles from the Library Homepage
- select Literature Resource Center
- Type in the title of your short story in the dialog box on the next screen
