- Biography Resource Center
- Literature Resource Center
- CREDO Reference
- Academic Search Premier
You can look over the worksheet you filled out in the previous class, and then please click to fill out a little review.
In Part One, you were asked to look at some political Web sites, then go to a Bulletin board for this class. Once there, you need to click on Post a new message. Type in your name and write a couple of sentences about what you learned from the political Web sites and/or the news sites. None of you did this when you were here before. So, this is something for all of you to do now.
| Part Two: Using Google Books |
Google is digitizing millions of books and making them available at books.google.com. This allows you to look inside books for the use of words. Amazing! Here's a YouTube video of one of the scanners that's being used.
Here's a search for information in books about Filipinos in Watsonville:

Your turn! Go to Google Books and look inside books for information on a topic of interest to you. Note down here something you learned:

| Evaluating what you find on the Internet |
In using the Internet, it's important to remember that anyone can publish. You need to think critically about what you find. What is the authority behind what is being said? Where did the person get the information? How believable is it?
Evaluation is important!
Go to Google.com and search for information on a topic that interests you. Find at least one good quality Web site. Find at least one that is bogus or is not credible.
