Hints for Exercise 4: Find specific tutorials

Exercise 4 In your reading, you run across a reference to the Patient Education Institute and the fact that they have education materials written for patients. You'd like to see some examples. Find the Patient Education Institute; look at/listen to one or more of the sample Clinical Tutorials, Public Tutorials, or Webcasts. On your Word document, note the title of what you found, and, having explored it, tell us what you think of its quality. Do they have a tutorial for osteoarthritis?

Hints for Exercise 4

1. Go to Google, type in "Patient Education Institute" as your search term. http://www.patient-education.com/ is the URL.

  • Click on Products
  • Select to look at/listen to Clinical Tutorials, Public Tutorials, and/or Webcasts. Over on the right, click to Review a sample.

IMPORTANT On the computers in the classroom, in order to play the tutorial or Webcast, you will probably have to disable a popup blocker. To do that, hold down the Ctrl key (lower left on your keyboard) as you click to bring up the tutorial.

This gives you an idea of tutorials and health information available.

All the Patient Education Institute tutorials are available at Medline Plus: Interactive Health Tutorials Explore what's available for osteoarthritis or some other topic.

2. Go to your Word document and tell us what you think of the quality of these educational materials.
