Cabrillo College Library Laptop Loan Service

Laptop computers are available for checkout at the Cabrillo College Library. All laptops have word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint and Web browser software. The laptops may be checked out for two hours, and are renewable. For information about the Library's desktop computers, click here.

To check out a laptop, a student must:

• Be registered for the current semester
• Have a Cabrillo library card and photo ID.

Service Details

• Laptops are borrowed at the Library’s Circulation Desk.
• The Library’s Reference Librarians are available for basic assistance on use and functionality of the laptop computers.
• Currently registered students with a Cabrillo library card may borrow a laptop for 2-hour periods. Laptops may not be borrowed by anyone not currently registered at Cabrillo.
• Each laptop comes with Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Firefox, an external mouse, a power adapter, and a flash drive to transfer files to our printing computers.
• Every laptop can be used to connect to the campus wireless network within the Library.
• Basic instructions for use are included with each laptop.
• Laptop computers must be used inside the Library.
• Students borrowing a laptop are financially liable for loss or damage to the laptop computer.
• Standard Reserve overdue fines are applicable on laptops, e.g., $5.00 beginning immediately after the item is due, an additional $5.00 after one hour overdue, and increasing for continuing overdue items.
