ZoomText
ZoomText is a screen software that enlarges text and images for the visually impaired individual..
It is available on a workstation near the Reference Desk and on a workstation in the Library electronic classroom.
On both workstations, the icon is under the "Programs" submenu in the "Start" menu.

Directions
Screen magnification technology is intuitive and easy-to-use.  The trick is to understand that only a portion of the
screen can be seen at any one time.  The user must know how to use the mouse to pan around the screen contents, and the low-vision user develops a gestalt of the screen by fusing these partial views into a mental perception of the whole.
Once panning techniques have been mastered, using screen magnification software is extremely straight-forward.

General Rules:
The larger the amount of magnification needed by the user, the lesser amount of information that can fit onto the screen.  Very large magnification reduces visual closure and greatly increases the amount of time required to provess screen content.
